Next question re hands/ wrist surgeon Options

I everyone i am under a great hand surgeon at kings college hospital Mr J P Compson i had a Debridement on thur on my right thumb so caring & very helpful.

Have just found out on Google what debridement means, very interesting would not have know anything about such treatment without you getting in touch.

hi Jenni,

i just had surgery for ruptured tendons yesterday and in my experience they don't do extra x-rays etc. i was sceduled to have tendons re-aligned or whatever because they had gone "into the gutter". when i saw the surgeon (30 mins) before i went for the general anasthetic, she checked my hand and overturned the previous diagnosis. i was offered scans etc, but that would have meant cancelling my surgery and i really didn't want that as i had been waiting for a year for it.

if they offer scans, i would recommend you push for them, you really don't want a change of diagnosis on the day - trust me, it makes life a lot more difficult. definately write questions down, because consultants will always catch you off guard, and stick to your guns.

and please forgve the rubbish typing - it's my right hand that is in plaster!
